Joss Whedon Pitch A Batman Film

Who knew that during Warners Batman Begins beginnings, Joss Whedon pitched a story.

The Serenity director tells MTV, "Well, I actually did pitch a 'Batman' film when [Warner Bros. began developing "Batman Begins"], and it wasn't what they did but the vibe was very similar."  Whedon adds, "Mine was a bit less epic. It was more about the progression of him and it was more in Gotham City.  He didn't go to Tibet and meet coll people, but it was very similar in vibe."  Although his version didn't get made he hopes that one day he'll be able to put his story to a comic book.

I can't say I'm all that upset that Whedon didn't get to make his film because as we all know Chris Nolan has done an amazing job but I would be very interested in seeing a comic on what his vision was.  As many fans know, Joss Whedon is a very talented story teller so his look into the Batman world could have been very cool.

I personally think that I would have preferred Whedon’s vision. I would have been un-opposed to a true to Frank Miller version of Batman Year One.
Cat woman was a hooker who knew? As far as where they went with the film I liked it. But thought once more it was a watered down version of an already in place gritty story. I would have liked to see Batman get his but kicked once or twice in the beginning till he “cut his teeth ” so to speak. I liked the film but as usual with most Whedon projects I always lament what might have been.
