Goonies 2!
I don't know how many times I've heard this but apparently more rumors of a Goonies sequel has come across the internet, this time from Moviehole.net.
"A very, very, very good source - if I revealed his name, you'd know straight away this was a solid bit of news - informed me a few days ago that 'the sequel Corey Feldman has been telling media will never happen', one 'Goonies 2', is indeed... happening," says Moviehole. "Warner Bros are finally going to give it the respect it deserves - this will be a large-scale theatrical release... a tentpole. It will not be a direct-to-video release."
You'll have to read the rest of Moviehole's report but they make it very clear that they are confident in their source. To that I can't speak but I don't know if I believe it. Look, god, I hope it's true. I'd love to see another film from one of my favorite childhood movies but it really is hard to say if work is really being done. As usual, the only thing we can do is wait for an official trade report or a statement from the studio. I just hope a Goonies sequel doesn't turn out to be the same as Lost Boys 2, like crap. I know for a while rumors of an animated feature was on the way but since then no word has come out.
