Save The Train!

Midnight Meat Train

It appears the Clive Barker adaptation The Midnight Meat Train is not going to get a fair run at the theaters.  The new boss at Lionsgate wants to drop the film on 100 screens and then rush it to the DVD market, mostly because this new boss hates the former boss over at Lionsgate.  He wants to cut all of the films and projects under the former head boss.  How damn childish!  Yet Barker is hoping that horror fans can make a difference, "I would passionately encourage everybody who cares about my work to use this chance to change the minds of the folks at Lionsgate- This is exciting! I really think, this late in the day, that grassroots support for our movie could significantly improve our chances of reaching a much bigger audience theatrically. The picture is worth the effort, I believe."  I would like to see this movie get a wider release; it’s been getting strong reviews from the horror community.  Some have compared the imagery to Hellraiser meaning that in a nightmarish way it’s a thing of beauty.

If you would like to support the fight against out of touch Hollywood and have The Midnight Meat Train get a wider release please visit   http://www.clivebarker.info/newssavemmt.html for details and for a support letter.

Street Date for The Midnight Meat Train is August 1st.
