DreamWorks Split From Paramount Near

DreamWorksI'm not going to try too hard to understand all of the buisness aspects to the industry because my head will explode.  That said, news on the Spielberg front.

It's been known for sometime that the relationship with DreamWorks and Paramount is near it's end, so where was DreamWorks going to head?  ComingSoon.net has news on the story.  "The Principals of DreamWorks SKG are close to a deal with one of India's biggest entertainment conglomerates to form a new movie venture, according to The Wall Street Journal.  The move would give director Steven Spielberg the cash to finace his DreamWorks team's departure from Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures later this year."  India!! WTF!  The deal with India's Reliance ADA Group is going to dish out $500 million - $600 million for Spielberg for an expected 6 films a year.

Well good luck with that... I'm sure Spielberg is going to make this Indian company loads of cash because that's what he does.  I don't know why Paramount didn't try to keep him or work out new things with Spielberg.  Paramount will go on just fine I think, but for their sake, having Spielberg and DreamWorks was what made them so successful the last couple of years.  I'm interested on seeing how this is going to work out.  The just lost one of the greatest directors that ever lived.
