Several months ago rumors sprouted that Tobey Maguire's production company was putting together a live action adaptation of Robotech.  Since then however no word has surfaced about it, until now.

CHUD got wind of Robotech's new writer.  "I just got a call from Devin, currently waiting to see Wanted, because he got a call from a good source about Lawrence Kasdan being the new writer for Robotech," says CHUD.  Kasdan was also in part on writing The Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I never really watched Robotech as a kid.  I was a Transformers guy but what I do know is if Kasdan still has the juices he had when writing 2 of the world's most recognized films.... I'm faithful that Robotech could turn out to be something really cool.  Maguire would also more then likely be attached to star and to be honest, it would really be nice to see him do another film that isn't Spider-Man.
