Transformers II: Revenge of the Fallen - The First Week Of Filming

Transformers 2 has just hotly become my second most anticipated movie of 2009 second only to Star Trek since I'm that much of a ST geek. All though I've been looking very forward to the sequel to the 2007 film I really haven't been all that excited until the realization to the first day of shooting settled in. Now that week one of filming is basically complete, my anticipation and excitement has shot up a thousand fold. Between the pictures, videos, rumors and elements, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen is going to be huge in every aspect of a Hollywood film.
In this post, I'm going to give you a basic round up of the events of week one along with photos and videos available. Also added cast members, movie info and new additions to the Autobots and Decepticons. If your looking for more complete information your better off heading to Transformers Live among other websites more dedicated to the film as this is only basic info.
For starters Transformers 2 sees the return from the first film the cast of Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight and Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. Joining that cast is Matthew Marsden and the rest is really just unimportant. So lets get on to the good stuff. A couple of days ago I put up a post on the first day of shooting and within that post not a whole lot was really seen except military aircraft circling Bethlehem Steel. Along with that was several on set photos as well as a first look of Tyrese in military wear. You can see all of that HERE!
Over the last week, with the release of the new title came the new film logo shown above from ShootfortheEdit, Michael Bay's official website. Here is an official announcement from Hasbro, coming from IESB.net, "With a little more than a year away until its debut, the buzz is building about the sequel to 2007's hit movie TRANSFORMERS. TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN began shooting on June 2nd in Bethlehem, PA. While details of the movie's plot a closely guarded secret, expect a key character from the first movie to make a dramatic comeback and attempt to settle a score."

The filming in Bethlehem PA turned up a couple of really cool things that will get any Transformer fans excited, it certainly has me excited. It's been confirmed by news outlets that Bethlehem, PA is going to be the opening of the film setting as a China steel factory. In a Michael Bay tradition Transformers 2 is beginning with an exciting action sequence with Captain Lennox, the British SAS and of course the Autobots, apparently chasing a Decepticon Audi R8, which is pretty slick and hot for a Decepticon. However this could be misinformation all together, who knows, unless it's confirmed which I'm sure they'll eventually give us a list of what Robots will be featured in the film. What is known is that a new Autobot is going to show up in Shanghai, China during the opening of the film, for now only known as 2 twin Autobots in the form of an ice cream truck. You can see larger photos, HERE! Otherwise they are pictured below.

Also another Autobot is going to make an appearance as possibly some kind of Bikes and it's plural meaning 2 or more. It's all really confusing to understand since all of this is just rumors and conjecture however that Autobot is Arcee, a character that we knew more then likely would make it into this film since she was apparently going to be in the first film. Ben Procter who was a designer on the first film has concept art on his website portfolio of Arcee that you can see below but from the sounds of it, she'll be a different design. Click to enlarge. If you head on over to Seibertron.com you can also see photos of Arcee holodrivers, if that's who they are. They're sexy as hell too.
Also on set at Bethlehem was Ironhide with Bumblebee at the Smithsonian.
Helping out the Autobots is Josh Duhamel and Tyrese which where on set shooting, pictured HERE!
Basically to sum all of this up you can check out a couple of call sheets from the shoot in Bethlehem which you can see below, click to enlarge.
By reading the call sheet, it tells us what Transformers are involved so far in shooting, The Twins, Ironhide, Arcee, Stinger, Weelbot, Construction Earth Mover. Does that mean the Construction Earth Mover is actually going to be Devastator? I hope so. Also according to the call sheet the next shoot will involve Jetfire who will be a Blackbird taking place at the Smithsonian.

Transformers Live scored the first photos from the Smithsonian set with a first look at Jetfire which is apparently going to start off as a Decepticon that changes sides to the Autobots. According to the call sheet above, this is a scene involving Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Jon Turturro.
As I said in the beginning of the post this is just a basic round up of info, there really isn't that much more then that with some exceptions that I found not important.
If you want more I'm going to post links and videos below.
MachineGunDeath has a large gallery of images and videos from the 3 day shoot. In addition to those photos you can see more at Transformers News. Take a look at some aerial photos over at Bethlehem Daily Star. More photos and videos at Randomn3dss! That should do it with the photos since they are basically all the same.
On to some Youtube videos.
That last video Josh Duhamel and Tyrese showed up to great fans. Very cool of them.
So thats it for now!
