This is just another remake that is completely useless, especially now.  During Cannes, MGM studio people Harry Sloan and Mary Parent revealed plans that Red Dawn "is a candidate for a remake."

In making this short and sweet, the Soviet Union has fallen, which means that you can't use the Russians unless the movie is going to take place in the 80s.  If it's not, then that means China is your best bet but at the same time why would you even bother doing this without Patrick Swayze.

I'm completely against this, but I'm not going to complain about it because it won't get me anywhere.  Now you know that a Red Dawn remake is in the works and you now know that I think it's stupid.
