Spiderman 4 & 5 Might Shoot Together

An interesting news story has shown up and it’s about the continuation of the Spiderman movie franchise.  Cinematical is putting word out that James Vanderbilt has apparently turned in a script for Spiderman 4 with an arc that “…encompassed two films, making Spiderman 5 shootable at the same time.  The studio saw dollar signs and is in the process of reworking his deal to snatch up the story arc.”

First off, James Vanderbilt is respectively a nobody.  He’s written a couple of films including The Rundown and Zodiac.  Whether he can take on a comic book franchise is yet to be seen.  Who knows how his script turned out but it is very interesting.

To be honest, Spiderman 3 really ruined the franchise for me.  I can’t stand that movie and everytime I hear the name Spiderman, I think of the 3rd film and it’s really depressing.  If a Spiderman 4 is made, it’s really going to have to impress me to get me back into the movie theater.  They should start by killing MJ or just getting rid of Kirsten Dunst, because she sucks.  If Sam Raimi chooses not to come back for the 4th film, I don’t blame him, but I’d still like to see Tobey Maguire make a return as long as they make his character a man and not a little bitch.
