This is really weird and unexpected news.  First off I haven't seen 21 Jump Street in a very very long time, but I have seen it and I have a feeling that I remember liking it.

Jonah Hill (Superbad) is apparently in negotiations with Sony to write and executive produce a feature film based on the TV series 21 Jump Street.  21 Jump Street originally starred Johnny Depp and ran from 1987 to 1991 on the FOX network.  As of now, it's not known if Hill will be starring in 21 Jump Street or not.

I have to say that this is stupid.  It's not so much that Jonah Hill is involved it's more about a movie about 21 Jump Street.  Seriously, why bother?  More then likely if Hill is involved, it would end up as a comedy instead of the tone the orginal series was.  I can't say if that's a good or a bad thing but I do think this movie is a waste of time.

Unless, it turn's out to be some kind of a sequel or continuation of the TV Show and it stars Johnny Depp.  He could be the commanding officer of a new group of young cops going undercover in schools.

I don't buy it...
