Matthew Vaughn No Longer Attached To Thor

Thor

Announced by Marvel a couple of days ago to expect a Thor movie by 2010 but the man who was going to direct Thor is no longer directing.  From IGN.

“Matthew Vaughn no longer is attached to direct the project because his holding deal expired December.”

Marvel Studios is currently waiting for I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich to turn in a script polish. “It’s very much a Marvel superhero story but against the backdrop of nothing you’ve seen before,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said of Thor.

Thor is slated for release June 4, 2010.

I can’t say that Thor is a movie that I’m really looking forward too.  Depending on how the trailers and photos look, I’d probably see it anyways, but since I’m not much of a comic book reader I’m not all to familiar with Thor.

The loss of Matthew Vaughn is, I say, a big thing.  He’s a good director and for anyone who’s seen Stardust would know.  They have the screen writer to I Am Legend cleaning up and revising the script, so I’d say thats not a bad thing since I Am Legend wasn’t bad at all.

This is all in the early stages as of now.  Since Thor isn’t set to be released until 2010, it’s no big deal for were they are at.
