The good people over at IGN have big news when it comes to classic science fiction.  Nu Image/Millennium Films are apparently getting a Buck Rogers film off the ground for a theater release and a rumored director.

IGN Movies has learned from a longtime reliable source that classic science fiction hero Buck Rogers will return to theaters courtesy of Nu Image/Millennium Films, the outfit behind the recent revivals of Rambo and Conan.

Not only that but we were told that none other than comic book icon-turned-filmmaker Frank Miller will direct it!

Later in after IGN posted this, they were contacted by Nu/Millennium, saying that no deal is set for the rights or a director yet.

Buck Rogers is of course one of the most famous of all sci fi characters.  Unfortunately, its kinda out of my time, meaning I never really watched it and if I did... I don't remember.  Although I'm against remakes and the like, I'm not against this at all.  I think it would be great to bring back Buck Rogers and do it in a big way.
