Yesterday I put up a post of the first cast memeber announced for the Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica and now the Hollywood Reporter is telling us we have the father of William Adama.

Esai Morales has joined the cast of Sci Fi Channel’s two-hour “Caprica” pilot.

The project, from Universal Media Studios, is a prequel to the network’s “Battlestar Galactica.” Morales will play Joseph Adama, the father of William Adama (played in “Galactica” by Edward James Olmos), who one day will take command of the Battlestar Galactica.

Joseph is described as a deeply passionate man with a strong sense of justice — and someone you wouldn’t want as your enemy

Esai Morales can be recognized as Major Beck from Jericho, one of the best shows ever that got cancelled for low ratings (such bullshit).  Now casted as Joseph Adama, is amazing.  Morales is a badass actor and he’ll be so great in this.  I’m more pumped for Caprica more then ever now.

They say Joseph Adama is a man of passion with a strong sense of justice.  Those of us who watched Jericho know that Morales will be able to pull that off with ease.  Morales as Beck was all about passion.

On the downside, that kind of makes me think that all hopes for a return for Jericho is out the window.  I say they make Jericho into a series of TV movies.  That would be cool.

Over all, I’m thrilled that Morales is casted as Adama.  This is gonna be great.
