Casting Rumors For Transformers 2!

Jonah Hill

In just a day or two apart, casting rumors for the next installment for the mega hit and my personal favorite for 2007, Transformers, has been hitting the net.  This first rumor is something that I really like.  Entertainment Weekly is reporting that star of Superbad, Jonah Hill, is in negotiations for a role in Transformers 2.

Jonah Hill is in early negotiations to costar opposite Shia LaBeouf in Transformers 2 for DreamWorks and Paramount. Hill (Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will provide the comic relief as a sidekick to Shia's Sam Witwicky. (A source tells EW.com that he'll play Sam's college roommate, but DreamWorks won't confirm.) The sequel is set to begin shooting this summer.

The talk is that Sam's college roomate is kid that runs a conspiracy theory website which basically means the role is going to be pretty funny.  I think that both Hill and Shia Labeouf could feed off of eachother for really funny stuff.  So if this happens I'm all for it, AS LONG... as Tranformers 2 stays the robots movie.

Teresa Palmer

Next up, rumored casted actress, beautiful Australian actress Teresa Palmer.

IESB.net put up a post that an Aussie newspaper is saying that Teresa Palmer landed a role in Transformers but the role isn't yet known.  IESB says it could be Sam's (LaBeouf) ex girlfriend.

Aussie newspaper Courier Mail had the following casting info today,

She was up, up and away as part of the cast of the beleaguered Justice League of America, but Teresa Palmer's film fortunes have transformed again.

While her Justice role as baddie Talia al Ghul is seemingly in a permanent holding pattern, the talented Aussie actress, pictured, has apparently landed a role in the Transformers sequel, Transformers 2.

Her casting follows an Aussie theme for director Michael Bay. The blockbuster auteur cast another Aussie, Rachael Taylor, in the first live-action Transformers feature and the Tassie actress has been busy ever since, appearing in the Alan Rickman drama Bottle Shock and more recently Deception with Michelle Williams.

Palmer, too, has been busy of late, moving swiftly from the postponed George Miller-directed Justice League to star opposite Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories.

So there it is people.  Remember, Michael Bay has said that he's going to throw out bad info about Transformers to throw everyone off.  Although, I'm not all too sure he'd do that with casting.  These people eventually have to promote the film, but we'll see what happens.  Transformers should start shooting in June, so we'll know by then.
