Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino Is NOT Dirty Harry

Clint Eastwood

This news sucks... It really pisses me off.  For while now, the unknown Clint Eastwood project called Gran Torino was rumored for a while that it was a new installment of the Harry Callahan Dirty Harry franchise.  Well its not...

Moviehole.net is reporting that Gran Torino is a completely different movie.  Here's the story line.

Walt Kowalski is a widower, a grumpy, tough-minded, borderline-hateful, unhappy man who can’t get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in cherry condition. Drawn against his will into the lives of the Hmong family that lives next door to him, Walt grows increasingly fond of TAO and his sister SUE, and takes steps to protect them from the gangs that foul his neighborhood with their strutting presence…

They might as well just change the name from Walt Kowalski to Harry Callahan.

After reading all of Moviehole's post, it actually doesn't sound all that bad.  I just wanted another Dirty Harry movie.  I actually watched all of them last month.  Dirty Harry is the best movie out of all of them.  Magnum Force is cool too.

So I'm kinda disappointed but thats part of the game I guess.

To read everything about Gran Torino, head over to Moviehole.net.
