Will Jericho Come Back For A Third Season?

Jericho

Some interesting news came out from The NY Times saying that its possible for Jericho to come back for a 3rd season.  In all honesty I'm not really sure I understand it all, but the fact that the report is out there makes me happy that Jericho is still a fondly looked at show.

For television networks, it is a common quandary: what do you do about a show that critics adore, that has a passionate base of fans, but that consistently gets mediocre ratings?

NBC, for one, thinks it has a creative solution. Last week, it announced a deal with DirecTV, a subscription satellite television service, that would keep “Friday Night Lights” on the air for a third season. DirecTV will help defray NBC’s production costs and in exchange will receive the right to show “Friday Night Lights” first.

Television executives say this model could help keep other sentimental favorites on the air. For instance, CBS Paramount Network Television has held talks with Comcast, the cable provider, about finding new life for “Jericho,” the low-rated drama canceled by CBS last month, according to two people briefed on the talks who requested anonymity.

I don't really know what Comcast is, because I don't have Comcast... whatever it is.  My cable provider is Cablevision IO.  If this means that Comcast will take some of the production cost weight, i don't know, but thats what it sound like.

At this point there isn't any thing else thats coming out, so who knows what will happen.  Lets just hope that they'll see that Jericho is an amazing show, and the fan base loves Jericho very much.

If you want to read more, head on over to Syfy Portal and The NY Times.  Maybe you'll understand it more then I.
