Sci Fi Channel’s Flash Gordon Cancelled

Flash Gordon

This shouldn't be a surprise for anyone.  Its been known for a long time that Flash Gordon was going to get cancelled, but the word really never come out and no one ever said anything.

Syfy Portal basically confirmes that Flash Gordon is cancelled and I don't even care, but the reason I'm posting it is because I watch the first couple of episodes.

Fans of "The Dresden Files" found about the fate of their show when its star was signed on to another series. And now those looking to find out if "Flash Gordon" is getting another season has found out through a passing comment by a SciFi Channel executive more than a week ago.

SciFi Channel president David Howe told trade publication Variety March 21 that the network didn't treat the character of "Flash Gordon" the way he should've been treated, and the network may try to do it again sometime ... just not right now, which reading between the lines means that "Flash Gordon" is no longer on the schedule.

Like I said, I watched the first few episodes and to be honest I didn't think it was as bad as people thought it was.  However it turned out that it was bad enough that I didn't go back for more.  After watching 4 or 5 episodes, I called it quits.  Overall, nobody really liked the Flash Gordon series and I don't really blame them.  A lot of the story and so forth just didn't work.

Unlike Jericho, I doubt you'll see many fans crying over the cancellation of Flash Gordon.
