Knight Rider Will Be Going To Series

Knight Rider

After seeing the Knight Rider TV movie and knowing that it had very solid ratings, this news doesn’t really suprise me.  Ain’t It Cool News is reporting that Knight Rider will be going to series and has been greelit.

NBC has greenlit its third “Knight Rider” series in three decades, following the 1982 David Hasselhoff vehicle (if you will) and the 1997 Brixton Karnes-led “Team Knight Rider” (whose series finale featured a cameo by Hasselhoff).

The new series, whose 2-hour February pilot also featured a Hasselhoff walk-on, stars “All My Children” vet Justin Bruening and “Young and the Restless” vet Deanna Russo.

The network is expected to announce the new series’ tentative fall timeslot during its early upfront Wednesday.

I’m not totally happy with this news.  I didn’t like Knight Rider all that much.  I thought it was extremely boring and it felt like nothing was going on.  I did say in my review that if it went to series, I still would watch it and give it a chance.  Knight Rider could still turn out to be an entertaining series even though, I’m not holding out much hope that it will.  Time will tell however.

So for now take this news for what it is.  When the series begins, it could turn out like any other show.  It could be good or it could suck.
