Gran Torino Is A Dirty Harry Sequel!!

Dirty HarryYesterday I put up a post about a new film that Clint Eastwood is directing and starring in, but the only thing is... no one knows what it is or what it's about.

That all change today!  Ain't It Cool News recieved an email and this is what it said.

Nobody seems to know – not even the trades – what Clint Eastwood’s new movie, Gran Torino, is…. So I’ll tell you.

I recently advertised my 1974 ford grand torino classic original for sale in the local here, and within 24 hours had someone from Village Roadshow Pictures interested in having a look at it. He came. He wasn’t interested for numerous reasons (probably the modifications). He told me they were looking for the right car for a new Clint Eastwood movie.

He said it was a thriller about a killer that drives a certain torino. His 1972 Ford Gran Torino is the only thing the police have on him. A retired police lieutenant, one Harry Callahan, makes it his mission to track down the culprit when two young police officers, one Callahan’s grandson, are shot and killed by the guy.

So there you have it.

This is frickin amazing news.  I'm loving how some of these legendary actors are starting to wrap up the franchises that everyone loves.  Stallone did it with Rocky and Rambo, and now apparently Eastwood is doing it with Dirty Harry.  All we need now is Schwarzenneger to do King Conan and the destiny of the world will be complete.

On a serious note, I think this is a great idea.  I can just picture the moment when Harry Callahan makes the choice to go after the bad guys, by pulling out the 44 magnum.
