More Mummy Films After Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor?

During the blue carpet of the Independent Spirit Awards, MTV had a chance to talk to Maria Bello. Maria Bello who is of course steping into the role of Evelyn O'Connell, played by Rachel Weisz in the first two films. During the interview she touched on a few things from how much she loves this movie and how much fun she had, to how Rob Cohen changed the franchise. She also talked about how different her Evelyn is from Rachel Weisz Evelyn.
The comment that has everyone curious is how she said, "There will absolutely be The Mummy 4" when asked about sequels.
Bello admits to having so much fun, in fact, that she's looking forward to three more "Mummy" movies, confessing that she's already signed on for a whole trilogy of sequels.
"I don't know when, but it's going," she said. "[There will] absolutely be 'The Mummy 4.' "
And when there is, Bello says she's already got an idea for where it can film.
"Something that takes place in the Amazon," Bello suggested.
I'm never one to complain about movies like this, but I don't thing she should jump the gun like this. Tomb of the Dragon Emperor hasn't even come out yet and it could very well suck. Granted that won't stop the studio from making more because I think its likely that its going to make some nice change.
I can't explain why but when I first read this story I kind of rolled my eye. Part of me wants this franchise to close up. It could very well be because I'm extremely tired as I write this and I'm not in the mood, but the more I think about it the more I'm not feeling it. That could possibly change after view the 3rd film and I may like to see a 2nd but its to early to tell. If the movie is good and enjoyable, I'll be open for a 4th film, but if it sucks, close up and lets move on to something else, maybe something new.
MTV had the video of this interview, so If you want to see the whole thing, head over to MTV.
