Death Wish Original Writer Is Cool With Stallone Remaking It

Brian Garfield, creator of Death Wish, spoke with Popmatters.com where he said that he's happy with Stallone making a film and hopes its better then the 'woeful' Charles Bronson film.
“I’m curious to see what Stallone will do with it. I have no idea whether it’ll be successful at the box-office, but I have a feeling it’ll be a better film than the original was. The original Death Wish movie had enormous impact on people, but if you look at it as cinema, it’s woeful.”
It sounds like he doesn't like the Charles Bronson films... Oh look, he says more:
I hated the four sequels. They were nothing more than vanity showcases for the very limited talents of Charles Bronson.
Haha, 'limited talents'...
As for myself, I'm very interested to seeing what Stallone can come up with. He totally proved that he's a talented director and can handle a film like this. He's a good story teller, like he showed us in the Rocky franchise and he's a good action director, like he showed us in Rambo. So he can handle this film and I think he can make it something enjoyable to watch. If he stars in it, I kind of don't care either way, but part of me would rather see an unknown in this movie, but I really don't care. I just want this movie to be bad ass.
