Babylon 5 Returns Again
In the most amazing news I've read in a while. With the success of the direct to DVD, Babylon 5 The Lost Tales: Voices In The Dark, J. Michael Straczynski tells the Wondercon panel that more are on the way.
Comic Book Resources put together a small transcript of JMS panel and this is what he had to say about B5.
When asked about more live action “Babylon 5,” Straczynski said Warner Bros has finally noticed the franchise makes money and is interested in doing more in that universe. The recent Writer’s strike prevented more work from happening, as the studio did not commission a script before the strike action began. When asked what legacy the series left in the television medium, he replied, “The biggest gift we gave was to take the shackles off” in regards to developing character and plot arcs in science fiction television. He also said the spin-off series “Crusade” would not be revived in any format or medium. Of a feature film based on “Babylon 5,” he said “eventually.” Adding, “If they did a 'Starsky and Hutch' movie, they’ll get to 'Babylon 5.'”
I can't tell you how excited I am to see more Babylon 5. Besides Star Trek, B5 is my most favorite series of all time. I won't bore you with details on why I love it so much. As for Crusade never coming back in anyform is kind of sad. I was hoping to see some kind of a cap on that series. At least we still see Galen...
Hopefully now that the strike is over, JMS can hammer out a script to the next DVD and they can get rolling on the next movie with a bigger budget. The biggest complaint that a bunch of people had was that B5 looked very bare and empty. That everone knew B5 was on a limited budget. This time around I hope they raise the money and we can get back to the B5 that we know. Busy and exciting.
I really hope more news comes out about this very soon because I want to dish on it!.

I wait every day for a new lost tales announcement. No, really every stinking day.
JMS has said the first DVD exceeded even their (Warner Bros.) wildest expectations in sales, so I’m sure another one will be on it’s way.
Hopefully, it will get at least a modest budget bump, and hopefully a few episode/disc commitment to allow JMS a mini arc of stories.

This is my first post on this topic so please dont annoy me if i make a mistake!
Babylon 5 is one of the coolest films ever with even more charecter depth than other sci-fi things such as Lost and star-trek!
I would support the Babylon 5 films but i really want a live action film!
I even have a plot:
The film would either be separated into story’s like the lost tales or like in the beginning with an old Sheridan telling his son David!
Plot 1:
The telepath war. Set in the year 2266 the telepath war would follow some of byrans old telepath friends and a few others as they fight the Psi corp who have declared war on humanity. Meanwhile Garibaldi would try to find bester and kill him for all the things he has had to suffer because of him!
Plot 2:
The drakh war. The drakh have bieng driven from centari prime by vier who is now emperor after molari`s assassination. Matthew gideon sends a message to seridan and the two head after the drakh after hearing off an attack on narn borders to frame the centari! They eventualy fight the drakh and find a cure to the drakh plague and matthew gideon returns to earth with the cure and is promoted to head of earth defence!
Plot 3:
Shadow of a shadow. Sheridan hears word of an attack on a planet in drazi space and goes to investigate. The planet has been wiped clean by a shadow cloud. Back on Babylon 5 franzlin discovers a guy who seems to have died of spinal injury he finds out it is a organic spinal implant the shadows used to give to people who have been in there ships.
As the plot develops Sheridan discovers a conspiracy and learns that the shadows didn’t all leave to go beyond the rim a few rebelled and were driven mad by loneliness and because they have been driven from power they want to destroy the thing that made them weak babylon 5!
The shadows attack and Sheridan and delen call on Draal to attack the shadows and the great machine is used which destroys the shadows once and for all!
Plot 4:
Sheridan is supposed to have died. However when the light covered the white star the great machine activated and took him into the far future. It is not given a specific year however it is known that the alliance has shattered and there are talks about a new race.
Sheridan is thrown into a lightstar ship which is the new form of whitestar. The hand are rulling the universe and the younger races are dieing one by one sheridan and a crew of rangers fight the hand and eventually end up destroying the hand and then sheridan fades away!
Plot 5:
The universe is in havoc. Babylon 5 has been pulled out of exsistance. After being thrust through a wormhole into an alternate galaxy where Babylon 4 never stopped the shadows before or since the shadow and vorlon war is still going and as time melds. The shadows and vorlons start to return to attack the one place which was influenced by both of them Earth!
All in all i believe the world deserves a B5 cinema film. Although i dont think my last two plots would work as a film
