Battlestar Galactica Spinoff Caprica Maybe Revived

ImageShack

For a long time we heard rumors that a prequel spinoff to one of the best shows on TV, Battlestar Galactica, has been in works called Caprica.  Unfortunately it hasn't gone anywhere and may have been shelved.  By now, we are all aware that the WGA strike is causing massive damage to Hollywood and because of that, Caprica may have a little life left in it.  Ain't It Cool News reports that it may now be once again in the works.

The new “Sci-Fi Preview” edition of TV Guide reports (on page 28) that the desperately script-starved SciFi Channel may put into production the fully-scripted pilot for the “Battlestar Galactica” prequel “Caprica.”

“I just got a call from NBC-Universal,” SciFi VP Mark Stern tells the magazine. “They want us to take another look at the project.”

The prequel, set about half a century before the events of “Galactica,” will deal with Bill Adama’s lawyer dad and his contemporary, the human “inventor” of the Cylons.

Of course, recent events suggest “Cylons” have actually been around for centuries!

I'm all for this.  I love Battlestar Galactica.  It is without a doubt, one of the top 10 best tv shows on television.  Whether your a sci fi fan or a drama fan, BSG carries both with great success.  I am, however, skeptical about following Admiral Adama's lawyer father.  I don't know how well that would work, but given the fact that nobody really knows what the story is about, i'm more then willing to give it a try.

Personally, I'd rather see a mini series on the first Cylon war.

I’m up for this also. Battlestar Galactica is such a great series. I hope that the spin off is good to go soon.
