Robert Englund Talks Nightmare

Just a few days ago we were told that New Line were thinking how the next Nightmare movie would be a heads on sequel. Many fans were excited by this news. Here's the latest from the "Dream Killer" himself Robert Englund:
"I don’t know if it’s going to be Nightmare on Elm Street the original remake-which is not a bad idea especially with the success of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween-and get some new director to breathe new life into it. I always thought there was room for a prequel"
Seems like Robert is in the dark as we are. One has to remember that Robert loves to talk in a very freely manner. So I wouldn't put too much trust in a Remake just yet. As for the prequel, it's not going to happened. Robert's wants a CSI type story about the human Freddy. The movie would be more of a crime drama than a horror movie. It's clear that New Line doesn't want to go in that direction. Just make the fans happy and give us the sequel that we want. You know- picking up where part five left off, bringing Nancy back, and having a dark movie with an even darker Freddy. It's not rocket science!
