Del Toro Wants Deathly Hallows

ImageShack

The director of Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy I & II, Guillermo del Toro has shown a great interest in directing the final book/movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  Del Toro in the past was offered the directors chair for the 3rd film, Prisoner of Azkaban, but pushed it off.  However he feels that the last book is more his style.  He shows his feelings to MTV.

“I’m definitely interested,” he insisted, “now that the movies have grown darker. They have a contrast between the gloomy existence of the kid and the world he’s exposed to. They have evolved into a really nice universe.

I got [’Deathly Hallows’] for my daughter and she was like ‘When are you going to give it to me?’” he smiled. “I read it and I was very moved by the ending. It ends very much like a Dickens novel.”

Del Toro would be perfect for the Harry Potter series.  No matter how people feel about his film critically, there isn't a way to deny that fact that he always does a visonary job.  Just look at Pan's Labyrinth....  If you havn't seen that film, just move on to the next article.

This guy really has a keen eye on dark creature films, for lack of a better term, and I personally would love to see him send of the Harry Potter series in a grand fashion.  Everyone needs to start writing Warner Bros and tell them that an amazing director is interested and the fans demand that he signs up.

What do you think of Del Toro?  Do you like his movies?  Do you think he can do a Harry Potter film?
