Word is coming down the rumor mill that WETA's own Randall William Cook is looking to do a remake of The Gate (1987) and he's looking to do it in 3D, though I'm not sure when they say 3D if they mean just 3D animation or COMIN AT YOU IN 3D! or both. I'm kind of hoping to see it in live action 3D just because it's the kind of movie.

Don't remember the movie or thought it was lame? Even better, just one of the key things that makes it eligible for a remake in my book… a bad original! Though I have to question the quality of directing a v/fx supervisor has since this bring the names of Pitof and Tippet to mind.
