The Return Of Michael Knight?

ImageShack

A couple of weeks ago it was announced that Justin Bruening will be taking the lead role of Mike Tracer in a continuation of the popular Knight Rider series.  Now rumors from the Hollywood Report says that David Hasselhoff "The Hoff" is in talks to reprising his role as Michael Knight for the new pilot.

David Hasselhoff is in talks to appear on NBC's "Knight Rider," reprising his role as Michael Knight from the original series

Also Moviehole has more on that and rumors on if William Daniels will return or not to voice Kitt.

So, I heard today that William Daniels might not be reprising his vocalish role as K.I.T.T for the new “Knight Rider” series. And as great as it is to hear that David Hasselhoff is returning to reprise his role as Michael Knight in the show (or the pilot), it doesn’t sound like he’ll have much of a part – it’ll be no less than a glorified cameo.

Wanna know about his big scene? OK… The scene that his character appears in is one late in the third act where his son, the show’s hero, visits the grave of his mother. It’s there that a “mysterious stranger” appears… Michael Knight (he’ll start off as a silhouette and then come into focus). This is about 75 minutes into the pilot – which I assume runs for about an hour and a half, extracting ads – so he’s basically the ‘surprise!’ near the end. It’s the first time father and son have seen each other in 20 years. I assume it ends with either a handshake or hug… and the possibility that Michael Knight might appear in the show again at some point or another down the track. But he’s definitely not a series regular.

YES! I really hope the Hoff comes back!  They should take the same approch like it was done in Kung Fu The Legend Continues and have Michael Knight in it all the time.  I'm thrilled that this is actually a continuation of the old series and not just a remake.  I'll be there when the new pilot premieres.  I'm excited by this.

“Kung Fu The Legend Continues” is one of my fav. programme. After the first series , Father and Son meet each other but father’s character didn’t vanished.

I hope that’ll happen in the series of Knight Rider too. I think “Knight Rider ” is the only and most famous TV series in the world without doubt . David Hasselhoff is the heart of the show and must be there all the time with “KITT”, the world’s dream car.

    Hi Priyantha,

I don’t know if I would call Knight Rider the most famous TV series in the world. I’m not saying that its not popular, because is a huge and popular show, but its not the most famous.

I take it your a big fan, and I can respect that, because I love the show to.
