Clooney for GI Joe!

Just a couple of weeks ago, George Clooney dropped out of the upcoming film White Jazz.  Now rumors are coming out that he dropped out because he just might be in GI Joe as the title character, Duke.

Rumor is that one of the reasons he walked away from Joe Carnahan’s White Jazz was not only due to scheduling conflicts but also because he is looking for a blockbuster to star in. The word in the Hollywood grapevine is [George] Clooney has been offered a role in GI Joe and it’s the character of Duke.

Without a doubt, George Clooney is a fantastic actor, but I'd have to say this could be just weird.  I'm not convinced I can see Clooney playing Duke.  Like a said, he's a great actor, but I'm having a hard time seeing him as a hard nosed military man.  I know he's played military in movies before, but for Duke?!  I don't know...  This is something i'd have to think about.  What do you think???

I think Clooney would make a great GI Joe. I was thinking along the lines of the original doll.

Phil’s article makes it sound like they are modeling it after the 1980’s cartoon. Naming Clooney as the possible Duke character.

I am a little concerned. I’ve already seen Megaforce.

And have little desire to see it remade.
