Blade Reboot?!?!

Alright, this is just STUPID!!!  This story hasn't been confirmed by any means so just take this as a rumor, of course.  This comes from Bloody-Disgusting.

B-D reader 'Marlowe' drops is a line with some unconfirmed news claiming that there's a reboot of the Blade franchise in the works. He explains that it's something that the comic property wants, not necessarily New Line Cinema (who might not even be involved.)

I hope New Line Cinema doesn't get involved.  Why should they.  Blade is obviously successful franchise with 2 out of 3 awesome movies.  The first and second Blade movies where so great.  The third was still decent but it was also bull because they involved the Night Stalkers.  All of that said, the Blade films are just only about 10 years old.  The combination of being a realistically young franchise along with really good movies, should equal no remake.  Its one thing to remake a movie like The Hulk, because the Hulk movie, in fact, wasn't very good and well received.  Blade on the other was well received and had 2 sequels.... This is a BAD IDEA!!!! and I seriously HATE IT!!!

Besides that... There is no one on this planet that will be able to pull of Blade like Wesley Snipes.  Except maybe that crazy ass guy that runs through Manhattan in the middle of the night dressed as Blade, lol... True story.

As a big comic book fan, this is common.

Writers try to take a good character/idea, and chop off the dead wood ( details/stories by other authors.).
The character is typically left with a blank slate as far as a past and experiences go.
This is ususally a good thing, and allows a character to be used in ways that might not have been previously available give the corner they had previously been written into.

I don’t think continuity between the comics and the movie is a big issue.

Batman, Superman, XMen, Daredevil exhibit superficial relations, but the details are very different. That’s not to say they can’t influence each other, just that they don’t duplicate every thing.
