IESB.net has broken the news.  They are confirming, from there own sorces I belive, that Karl Urban has indeed been cast as Dr. McCoy on JJ Abrams Star Trek.

You heard it here first last week, about Karl Urban’s involvement in JJ Abrams' magical mystery trek through the stars, now AICN is also confirming the story, Karl Urban will play Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy.

They do say, they are waiting for confirmation from the trades (Variety, Hollywood Reporter).  Read their story at IESB.

AWW MAN! This is so AWESOME!  Karl Urban and Eric Bana in the same movie.  I don't care anymore if this movie sucks or not.... I love it already.  In all seriousness, I hope its not terrible, but I will enjoy seeing Bana and Urban in the same film.  I'm really pumped.  I've concluded that Star Trek is number 2 on my most anticipated for 2008.  Number 1 would be Indy 4.

 That said, i'm really happy about all of this.  Filming for ST begins in just a couple of weeks, so i'm really excited to start seeing material on this.  What is going to be tough, is the fact that JJ Abrams is in charge and we all know how good of a secret keeper he is, IE. Cloverfield.
