Star Trek: Simon Pegg is Scotty/John Cho is Sulu??

stThe news with Star Trek has been pouring in the past couple of weeks.  Lets consider, thats because filming begins in several weeks. Today we have 2 new cast members to welcome to the cast... maybe, lets wait until confirmation from Paramount, but that said, First Simon Pegg(Hot Fuzz) has grabbed the role of Mr. Scott! From Variety.

Paramount Pictures is beaming up Simon Pegg to play Scotty in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek."

Pegg joins Eric Bana, Anton Yelchin, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Leonard Nimoy in the latest bigscreen incarnation of the classic TV series.

I think i'm pretty ok with this casting choice, so good for Pegg and lets hope he play's a good Scotty.  I will admit I've been rooting for Stargate Atlantis Paul McGillion, but he didn't get it. So I'm good with this.

Next we have John Cho whos apparently been cast by Mr. Sulu....OH MY! From TrekMove.  They've all just updated saying there story is confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

TrekMovie.com has another exclusive scoop for JJ Abrams’ new crew. According to sources Korean born actor John Cho has been tipped to be the new Hikaru Sulu for the new Star Trek.

I really don't know him as an actor so its hard to comment, but i'll trust JJ Abrams and camp, because so far the casting has been exceptional. So there you have it, new cast members and only  a few to go.
